Lady Wolves Win 8AAAAA Region Championship!
It was unfamiliar territory for the Lady Wolves as they moved up to a new higher classification and a new region this season, but the Lady Wolves flexed their muscles this past Saturday in this years region tournament and again showed who is the alpha of region 8AAAAA. The championship game pitted Buford vs the #3 state ranked Lady Falcons of Flowery Branch together for the third time this season and for the third time, the Lady Wolves showed their dominance by defeating their neighbors by the score of 53 to 38. The Lady Wolves showed their defensive pressure the whole game and held the Lady Falcons to only 19 points going into the fourth and final quarter. This pressure was enough to give the ladies of Buford a 15 point win to bring home the region gold of first place. All the Lady Wolves played extremely hard and it was a total team win. Tory Ozment lead all scorers with 15 points and was followed by Audrey Weiner as she chipped in another 13 points. Again, the defensive pressure of all the Lady Wolves helped cage the high flying Falcons from Flowery Branch in earning the win. Great Job of winning the region tournament and going undefeated at 14 - 0 through region play this season.

The Lady Wolves will play in the 1st round of the state playoffs this Saturday afternoon as they take on the Lady Bulldogs of Decatur at 5:00 in the Buford City Arena. We need everyone to come out and support both the boys and girls programs as they continue on the road to a state championship. Let's fill the Arena with the Green and Gold of Buford to show our support!
