The Lady Wolves closed out the last game of the season with the one goal they all wanted,  a win in the 5A state championship game.  The Lady Wolves defeated the traditional power Lady Panthers of SW Dekalb by a score of 60 to 42 to bring home their fifth state championship in the programs history.  Playing at the University of Georgia’s Stegeman Coliseum, the night belonged to Buford from start to finish. The Lady Wolves used their famous relentless full court defense to frustrate the Lady Panthers and keep the ladies of Dekalb off balance all night.  On the other side, the Lady Wolves attacked the basket and shot long range bombs to get the win.  It was a total team effort with all the Lady Wolves contributing in some way on offense or defense.  Tory Ozment lead all scorers with 18 points and freshman Tate Walters and Jessica Nelson each chipped in 9 points.  Audrey Weiner contributed 8 points in the win.  Again , all the Lady Wolves played hard and contributed to the win, but more important the way they represented their program, school and community is what makes them real champions.
