AUBURN, Ala. – Austin Turner is set the join the Auburn baseball program and head coach Butch Thompson next summer as the lone outfielder in the 2019 signing class.
"Signing day was incredible because I have always dreamed of playing college baseball," Turner said. "I felt proud to be representing Auburn University in front of my friends and family, and I felt accomplished because of all of the hard work that I have put into getting to this day. It was good to have my teammates and coaches there as well."
Turner, a native of Buford, Georgia, is rated a top-500 player nationally and top-100 player in the state by Perfect Game. He is high school teammates with fellow Auburn signee Ramsey David.
"It will be awesome to come into school already having a bond with one of my teammates," Turner added. "Ramsey and I have been playing together for a while, and we look forward to representing the Buford, Georgia community at the next level. The transition to Auburn will be easier for us because we are already good friends, and I look forward to creating similar relationships with my other teammates as well."
