Saturday, August 24th Buford XC kicked off its season on Saturday morning at the North Georgia Invitational at Lamar Murphy Park in Jefferson, GA. A partly cloudy morning brought some reprieve from the heat, but there was no escaping the humidity, and runners in the later races certainly felt the effects.
Girls Varsity: senior Jordan Sullivan led the charge coming in 22nd with a time of 21:57. Sophomore Carolyn Calzada (22:19), freshman Hayden Bailey (24:04), junior Mikayla Frierson (24:57), and freshman Abby Wood (25:34) all contributed points for a 10th place finish among 17 teams. We are very excited about the promise of this young team and what we will see from them this season and beyond.

Freshman Carter Hales (18:59), freshman Joseph Davis (19:32), and senior Ked Crossett (19:38) also had noteworthy performances.
