Buford XC rally against narrow trails and steep hills at North Hall Invite

Thursday, September 5th          Buford XC saw an evening of grit and determination at the North Hall Invite. Hot temperatures, narrow trails, and steep hills made for a slower course, but the Buford runners rallied against it all. Some stand out performances from our freshman and our JV girls made it a great evening for the Buford Wolves XC team.

Girls Varsity: Senior Jordan Sullivan once again led the charge coming in 22nd with a time of 23:26.  Freshman Hayden Bailey (24:18), Junior Mikayla Frierson (25:38), Freshman Abby Wood (26:36), and junior MaKenzie Curry (26:36) all contributed points for a 14th place finish among 20 teams.

Boys Varsity: The boys enjoyed a 14th place finish among a very competitive field of 23 teams. Senior Ben Archer crossed the line at 18:59 followed closely by freshman Carter Hales (19:18). Freshman Braden Schmid ran a fantastic race as our 3rd man with a time of 19:38. Juniors Zach Davidson (20:04) and James Morgan (20:05) rounded out our score.

JV Girls: JV Girls were the stars of the show last night and took 2nd place in the JV division. Sophomore Leah Madsen (26:47) and senior Rebekah Miranda (27:32) led the team with strong top ten finishes. Freshman Ashley Morales (28:19), junior Kelsey Crews (28:36), and sophomore Ansley Brand (29:42) rounded out the score.
