The varsity Wolves softball team swept through the Region Tournament at Walnut Grove this week, defeating Loganville 2-1 (8 innings), and Walnut Grove 8-2, on Tuesday, and Walnut Grove again, 8-1 in the championship game Thursday. For the Wolves, it was a week of great team play, dominate pitching and a display of toughness in the scorching heat and top opponents.
Ansleigh Hollifield was dominate in the circle and at the plate all week. Ansleigh had 2 complete game wins vs WG, striking out 21 and allowing 6 hits, and 3 runs. Ansleigh also went 7-8 vs WG with 9 RBI's , 4 doubles and a HR.
Riley Reese was also dominate vs Loganville, working 7.2 innings, allowing just 3 hits and 1 unearned run.
The Wolves have now won 7 straight and will carry a 18-9 record into the state playoffs next week at home on Tuesday.
