The Wolves let game 1 of the day slip away, as Jones County hit a 6th inning grand slam to take a 5-3 win over our Wolves. Ansleigh Hollifield was the tough luck loser, allowing only 2 earned runs on 2 hits, and striking out 11. Emmy Hall and Abbi Perkins had RBI hits to lead the Wolves, who managed only 3 hits.
In game 2, the Wolves defeated Carrolton 2-0 in the losers bracket, behind Ansleigh Hollifield's 2 hit shutout. Emma Castorri's squeeze bunt scored the Wolves first run (Taylor Malvin's double started the inning) and Abbi Perkins drove home another with a single.
The Wolves are now in the Final 4 for the 15th consecutive year, and the 16th time in 18 fastpitch seasons. Buford will have a rematch with Harris County Saturday morning at 10 am. Buford defeated Harris 1-0 in game 1 on Thursday.
