The Lady Wolves started off the season with a great win over a very experienced North Forsyth team this past weekend in the North Georgia Showcase.  North featured a team that has been to two Final Fours over the past two years in 7A and had all team members back on this years squad.  To get a win over this team on the first game of the season should be a tremendous confidence boost to the ladies of Buford.

The Lady Wolves used their trademark relentless pressing defense to keep the visitors from Forsyth off balance the whole game.  The fast action of the game really frustrated North and they could never find a good pace to get comfortable with and when the game slowed down in the half court, the Lady Wolves flexed their defensive muscle and made all shots tough to come by.  This resulted in holding the visiting team to only 15 first half points, while the Lady Wolves almost doubled their point total with 27 points.

It was a great first game effort by all the ladies of Buford as many players contributed and played with extreme effort and heart.  When the final horn sounded, the Lady Wolves had cruised to a 64 to 43 victory.

Four Lady Wolves scored in double figures lead by Tatum Ozments 12 points and followed by Blair Wallis's 11 points.  Both Tate Walters and Shy Willis contributed 10 points each to the cause.  Freshmen Kirby Wallis also helped out with 8 points.

It was great to see all the fan support for our program on the long Saturday afternoon and we are so excited to get this season underway.

The Lady Wolves will be back in action this Tues, Nov 12 vs the Lady Spartans of GAC at 6:00 in the Buford City Arena.

Come support your Lady Wolves and have a great night of watching great girls basketball!

GOOOOOOO WOLVES!!!!
