Buford Girls Lacrosse Seniors 2020

ANNA CHURCH-DEFENSE #25

Anna is the daughter of Jeff and Pam Church. She has been a member of the Buford Girls Lacrosse team all four years. As a defensive player, Anna shows focus and determination on and off the field.  She has been an active member of Beta Club for 3 years, while maintaining academic excellence as a student athlete. Anna achieved her Academic Letter all fours years, as well as three years on the Buford Honor Roll. 

Her favorite high school memory in lacrosse occurred during her Junior year. Buford's overtime victory as they battled a tough Greater Atlanta Christian team in a very intense game. The team also earned their first ever playoff appearance which was an exciting and fun experience. 

As her Senior year comes to an end, Anna says the memories that will forever remain are "The friendships I have made with my teammates, my coaches, and being able to play lacrosse for Buford."

Anna is planning on attending University of North Georgia on an Academic Scholarship.

 

LEAH MARSH-ATTACK #8

Leah Marsh is the daughter of Nathan and Amanda Marsh. She has been a member of the Buford Girls Lacrosse team for two seasons. Although this Lacrosse season was cut short, playing attack Leah assisted her team in a 6-0 season.  She was also active in numerous student activities such as BHS Dance, the Executive Leadership Council, Class of 2020 Student Council, and named to the Presidential Honors List. 

Leah's favorite memory of Girls Lacrosse was the first home game of this 2020 season. Her teammates were excited to start the season and playing as a team allowed Buford a big win over Mt. Pisgah.  As a Senior playing in her final season, Leah says "I will truly miss the small, unseen moments with each of my coaches and teammates. The jokes told during practice or before a game, getting hyped up to our music before each game, and most of all, learning how to love each other and fight for a win as a unit. "

Leah plans on attending Kennesaw State University pursuing a degree in Behavioral Science and Criminal Psychology in order to become an FBI Agent in the Behavioral Analysis Unit.

 

SKYLER THOMAS-ATTACK #2

Skyler is the daughter of Lamar and Robin Thomas. She has been a  member of the Buford Girls Lacrosse team all four years. Her skills and dedication at the Attack position allowed her team to finish the 2020, season 6-0.  

Playing Buford Girls Lacrosse throughout her high school career has provided Skyler with cherished memories. Her favorite memory is their 2019, win against Greater Atlanta Christian when she scored the tying point to allow her team a chance to play in overtime. The overtime win was a memory that will last forever. 

What Skyler will miss most about Lacrosse are her teammates and coaches. She looks forward to starting her college career where she will attend the University of North Georgia.
