Varsity girls enjoy three in top ten

Kona Classic  Fayetteville, GA

Saturday, September 26th, 2020   The cooler temps and relatively flat course were welcomed with open arms this past Saturday at the Kona Ice Trinity Fall Classic in Fayetteville, Georgia. This meet has recently tripled in size and is growing to become a major meet in the fall XC schedule, attracting schools like Lovett, Mountain View, Lakeside, Evans, and Landmark Christian. We are very excited about the progress seen in our Buford XC teams against such competitive schools and look forward to the region meet in four weeks.

*This meet combined the JV and Varsity into one race, so the results below reflect the five athletes who scored points for the team.

Boys Varsity/JV: The boys team once again displayed some strong pack running  with Sophomore Carter Hales (18:41:68) and Senior James Morgan (18:41:76) leading from the front.  Senior Zach Davidson (18:45:02) and  Sophomore Garrett Posey (18:45:56) were close behind, and Sophomore Brice Reynolds (19:14) rounded out the score.

Girls Varsity/JV: Our girls team enjoyed three top ten finishes  from our seniors with Caroline Snell (21:52) coming in 3rd,   Callie Snell (22:08) taking 5th, and Caroline Montini (22:09) close behind with a 6th place finish.  Junior Madeline Matos (24:07) and Freshman Cameron Perry (24:42) both enjoyed PR’s and rounded out the team score.
