Runner’s Fit Meet, Unicoi State Park, Helen GA

Thursday, October 1st, 2020      A beautiful afternoon with temperatures in the high 60’s welcomed the runners to Unicoi State Park on Thursday afternoon. The all natural surface, rolling hills, and spectator friendly venue is a favorite among our athletes and they came ready to compete. 

Girls Varsity: Our Varsity girls team ran a strong race and came in 3rd out of 15 teams.  Seniors Callie Snell (21:59), Caroline Snell (22:01), and Caroline Montini (22:27)  led the team, followed by Junior Madeline Matos (23:45) and Freshman Cameron Perry (24:24), who rounded out the team score. 

Boys Varsity: Our boys team placed 8th place among 18 very competitive teams. Senior James Morgan (18:18), Senior Zach Davidson (18:19), and Sophomore Carter Hales (18:22) led from the front and Sophomore Garrett Posey (19:03) and Sophomore Noah Johnson (19:05) rounded out the score. 

JV Boys: JV Boys once again dominated the race and pulled out an exciting first place finish. Freshmen Ben Webb (19:18) and Ben Beardsley (19:19) led the team and were followed by Freshman Noah Matthes (19:31).  Juniors Brent Webb (20:09) and Luke Crossett (20:17) finished out the team score. 

JV Girls: JV Girls represented Buford well with a 3rd place finish. The Crews sisters led the team with Freshman Caitlyn Crews coming across the line at 25:15 and Senior Kelsey Crews  finishing at 25:21.   Senior Ashley Eades (26:13) , Sophomore Ashley Morales (27:31) and Senior Ava Hatzilias (38:56) contributed points for the team as well.
