LAWRENCEVILLE — Buford defeated Mountain View 11-5 Wednesday, improving to 8-4 overall and 2-0 in 8-AAAAAAA.
Braden Burton (1-0) pitched 4 1/3 innings for the win, scattering five hits and three runs (one earned). He struck out six and walked two.
The Wolves’ top hitters were Ayden Lockett (1-for-2, two RBIs, run, two walks, stolen base), Cam Wood (1-for-4, two RBIs, run), Ethan Murray (1-for-2, two runs, two walks, stolen base) and Blake Russell (1-for-2, run, two walks).
Buford led just 4-3 before plating seven runs off six walks in the sixth inning.
Mountain View’s Caleb Farr had three hits, including a home run and a double. Andrew Brech (hit), Jesse Crews (hit), Jayden Wilson (hit, run, RBI) and Julian Hayes (hit, two RBIs) also chipped in for the Bears.
