LAWRENCEVILLE — Chase Scarbrough’s first varsity home run highlighted Buford’s 19-0, three-inning win over Central Gwinnett in Region 8-AAAAAAA baseball on Monday.
Scarbrough delivered a three-run home run in the third inning and finished with a team-high seven RBIs. He also scored two runs and stole a base.
Nate Taylor (5-1) didn’t need much support from his offense, striking out seven over three scoreless innings. He gave up one hit and walked none.
The Wolves (13-4, 7-0) also got offensive contributions from Ben Davis (3-for-4, double, three RBIs, three runs), Zach Stipe (2-for-2, RBI, two runs) and Ian Chafin (1-for-1, double, three RBIs, three runs, two walks, hit by pitch, stolen base).
Kai Jackson had Central’s only hit.
