BUFORD — Buford rebounded from its first 8-AAAAAAA loss for a 7-1 win over Dacula on Thursday.

Damian Brown (3-1) was the winning pitcher, going 6 1/3 innings and allowing one run on three hits. He struck out seven and walked two. Kyle Krause recorded the last two outs.

Blake Russell (2-for-3, run, stolen base), Cam Wood (2-for-4, double, run), Caleb Griffin (1-for-3, two RBIs, run) and Madden Young (1-for-2, sacrifice fly, RBI) led the Buford hitters.

The Wolves improve to 19-8-1 overall and 13-1 in the region.

Dacula was led at the plate by Jared Glenn (1-for-3, run), D.J. Quary (1-for-3, RBI), Samuel Zaa (1-for-2, walk), Jacob Mayfield (0-for-1, two walks) and Harry Bouldin (1-for-3).

The Falcons’ Ryan Higdon pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
