The Lady Wolves claimed their ultimate goal of winning the 5A state championship this past Thursday night with a 60 to 49 win over the Lady Falcons of Flowery Branch.  This was the fourth meeting with the cross county region 8 rivals and the Lady Wolves would get  wins in all four meetings, but this one was special because of the state title being on the line.  This would be the third state championship in the past four years for this special group of seniors.

It was a war from the start with both teams wanting to lay claim to being the champion, but the Lady Wolves wanted it more as they pulled out to an early first quarter lead and never looked back.  Every time the Lady Falcons got within striking distance, the Lady Wolves would make a play to close the door and continue to keep a lead.

When the final buzzer sounded, the Lady Wolves would again be on top of the mountain behind the stellar play of point guard Tory Ozment's 29 points.  Ebony Grant would chip in 12 points and Tate Walters 8 for the winning cause.  This would bring the final season record to 29 and 3 with both the region 8 and state 5A championship titles for this group of special young ladies.
