This past Friday was a special treat for Lady Wolves fans as the program got to welcome back many of the former greats to wear the Kelly and Gold of Buford.  The program honored and celebrated both the first three classes of Durden's 14 year span coaching at Buford and also the 2009 State Championship team.

The seniors from the Class of 2006, 2007 and 2008 were all recognized for all of their hard work and dedication in laying the foundation for the success of the teams to come.  These seniors were announced and recognized by both a video presentation and also a special award for their contribution to the Lady Wolves program.

Class of 2006 Seniors:      Shannon Wilson and Vicki Wilson

Class of 2007 Seniors:      Victoria Peevy, Grace Marlowe, Sarah Scott, Angela Morgan, Brittany Reese, Kelly Tucker

Class of 2008 Seniors:      Jennifer Tucker

We appreciate all these ladies efforts in laying the foundation for the success of the years to come in the Lady Wolves program.

"Our program's success was built on the shoulders of your dedication and commitment"

Next, we recognized the members of Buford's first basketball state championship team of 2009.  This was a special group of young ladies that played with such a passion for the game and love for our program and each other.

A special video of the state championship journey was played and many former players were reminded of these special memories and bonds that they shared together.

Each varsity player on the team was then recognized and the seniors were  given a special award for this great achievement for our program. The underclassmen on this team would go on and win another two straight state championships over the next two years.

This team compiled a 32-1 record, a region championship, defeated everyone in state tournament play by double digits and won Buford's first basketball state championship over undefeated Model High School by 30 points.  It was a total season of dominance that started the decade of dominance our program has enjoyed over the past 10 years.  This dominance includes:

6 state championships in four different classifications

2 state runner ups

Competing in 8 of the last 10 state championship games

8 region championships

a 10 year record of

That is an amazing 10 year run for a high school program and we are so proud of all of the former players that has shown so much dedication and commitment during this 10 year span.

THANK YOU LADIES AND WE APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH!!!

GOOOOO WOLVES!!!! 10 YEARS OF DOMINATION!!
