By Administration 01/17/2019, 10:00am EST

The Lady Wolves claimed the top spot of region 8AAAAA by defeating the Lady Gladiators of Clarke Central by the score of 80 to 44.

The Lady Wolves felt the effects of the long bus ride as they started slow out of the gates and fell behind by the score of 8 to 5.  When the halftime buzzer sounded the Lady Wolves only had a 7 point lead after 16 minutes of play.  Had it not been for the stellar rebounding of Katelynn Klein, Ebony Grant and Preston Reid, the home Lady Gladiators may have been on top of the scoreboard at this point.

The third period started and the Lady Wolves found their groove as they scorched the nets with a multitude of three point bombs and took complete control of the game during this period.

When the final buzzer sounded, the top spot in the region was secured by the Lady Wolves and they left no doubt that the road to the 8AAAAA region championship would have to go back through the path of the Kelly and Gold of Buford.

Tate Walters lead all scorers with 18 points as she connected on six three point shot attempts.  Preston Reid tallied 14 points in the victory and Casey Jones chipped in 11 points in the scoring column.

The Lady Wolves travel to Walnut Grove this Friday as they continue their region schedule.  Game time is 6:00.
