Softball Wolves sweeps Woodland, Cartersville

Buford softball used and offensive explosion in game 1 and clutch and timely hitting in game 2 to sweep Woodland, Cartersville and advance to the Elite 8 in Columbus.  

Playing on the road in the state playoffs for the first time in the Softball Wolves history, Buford jumped at the chance to make history and overwhelmed the host Wildcats 13-1 and 6-3.  

Mariah Wicker hit the second pitch of the game over the centerfield fence,  to start the offensive explosion in game 1.  The Wolves would score 2, 5, 5, 1 in their 4 offensive innings.  Ansleigh Hollifield fired 4 innings of 2 hit ball to earn the shutout in game 1.

In game 2, the Wolves saw a 2-1 lead disappear in the 5th inning, falling behind 3-2 momentarily, before rallying to score 3 in the bottom of the 5th and 1 in the 6th, to win 6-3.  Kaitlyn Pickens worked the first 5 innings in the circle to pick up the game 2 win, with Hollifield earning the save with 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Game 1:  Shea Bayreuther 3-3 4 RBI, Hannah Morgan 2-3 3 RBI, Mariah Wicker 2-4 3 Runs, Katie Perkins 1-3 2 RBI

Game 2:  Hannah Morgan 2-4 2 RBI,  Anabel Adams 2-4, Katie Perkins 2-4.

Lady Wolves surpass Fundraiser goal

The Buford Lady Wolves Softball program concluded their "Online Donation" fundraiser July 2nd, and surpassed their goal of $9,000.  Thank you to everyone who gave to the fundraiser and to all our players who diligently worked to secure the donations.  We are thankful so many people believed in our program enough to make a donation.  These funds will be used directly to assist the Buford Softball program continue to run a first class, championship program that so many have come to expect. 

Kelly Paulson was the individual leader, with over $800 raised in her account.  

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL TRYOUT SCHEDULE

Tryouts set for May 14-18

Tryouts are set for May 14-18, 2018, 3:00-5:30 pm for the Lady Wolves Softball Program.  All girls who are upcoming 9th-12th  grade may participate.  All players trying out must have a current physical on file with the Athletic Training Department to participate. 

Players still involved in a School spring sport may not participate.  Players who are not currently attending Buford City Schools may not participate.

Tryouts are open to the public.
