BUFORD — Cyrena Whalen finished first on three different apparatuses to take the all-around title and help Buford win their first team competition of the season. Competitors in the quad-meet included Cambridge, Etowah and North Oconee on Saturday at the Gymnastics Training Center in Buford.
Whalen won the vault with a score of 9.8, the uneven parallel bars with a 9.8 and the floor exercise with a 9.7 to take first in the all-around with a total score of 38.75 to help the Wolves put up 113.6 team points.
The Wolves also got strong individual performances from Jewel Clark, who scored a 9.7 on vault, and Marisa Ashton, who tied Whalen’s score of 9.8 on the bars, placed second on the floor with a 9.6 and tied for third on vault with a 9.5 to place second in the all-around with 38.35.
