Buford XC Runs Well Against Competitive Field at Apple Hawkins Invitational

Saturday, September 19th    The 4th Annual Apple Hawkins Invitational hosted by Apalachee High School attracted a field of very competitive schools this year. Our teams competed well against strong XC programs from Milton, Archer, North Gwinnett, and Flowery Branch. 

Boys Varsity: The boys team once again displayed some strong pack running that brought them a 7th place finish out of a sixteen teams.  Senior James Morgan crossed the line at 18:24 with Sophomore Carter Hales (18:29) close behind.  Senior Zach Davidson (18:37), Sophomore Garrett Posey (18:46), and Sophomore Braden Schmid (19:27) rounded out the score. 

Girls Varsity: Our Varsity girls also enjoyed a 7th place finish out of a very competitive field of fourteen teams. Senior Caroline Montini (22:21) led the charge with Seniors Callie Snell (22:24) and Caroline Snell (22:30) close behind.  Junior Madeline Matos (25:18) and Freshman Cameron Perry (25:24) rounded out the score. 

Boys JV: Our JV boys finished with an exciting and strong 5th place finish out of eleven teams. The pack was tight on this race and our five point scorers came across the line within five seconds of one another. Sophomore Noah Johnson (19:24:06) led the group and was closely followed by Sophomore Brice Reynolds (19:24:15), Freshman Ben Webb (19:26:16), Freshman Ben Beardsley (19:26:23) and Junior Caleb Allen (19:29:49). 

Girls JV: Our JV girls finished 5th out of ten teams. Freshman Caitlyn Crews (26:14), Senior Ashley Eades (26:16) and Sophomore Ashley Morales (26:17) led the team from the front. Freshman Emily DiMaggio (28:41) and Senior Ava Hatzilias (29:14) rounded out the score.
